Because...

Because Amy knows where to get a good deal on a generator.
Because Sarah makes her own wheat bread.
Because Christine found a place that sells food storage that lasts for 30 years.
Because Amy tries new recipes using her food storage.
Because Kim has 72 hour kits ready to go for her family.
Because Alicia just got a Bosch for Christmas.
And because the First Presidency has said,

"We encourage members world-wide to prepare for adversity in life by having a basic supply of food and water and some money in savings. We ask that you be wise as you store food and water and build your savings. Do not go to extremes; it is not prudent, for example, to go into debt to establish your food storage all at once. With careful planning, you can, over time, establish a home storage supply and a financial reserve."
If you have good wheat recipes, share them. If you found a good 72 hour check list, post it. If you found the best kind of wheat grinder, give the link. If you've been putting off filling up your basement with #10 cans, clear out some space. And at the very least, we could all use a little motivation sometimes. You certainly know more than me.

Hey all interesteting dinner conversation. I don't have all of the stuff, but I am closely related to someone who buys preparedness stuff on a daily basis. I will ask my mom where she buys the stuff and let you know. FYI I have silver put aside as the American $ won't be of value, I have hundreds of dollar bills in change so if I need to buy stuff I can pay in cash and not worry about change. I have 72 hour kits for the family that was given to me as a Christmas present a few years ago, solar powered flashlights, an awesome tent, a portable toilet, dutch oven, portable oven, food storage that they send to you and that is a variety of dried fruits, veggies, meats ext so that you don't suffer from scurvy by not having anything fresh. My mom collects seeds to plant your own foods. She buys broken egg shell powder to stir in your wheat so that weavels don't over take it. I have cloth diapers, material to cut for toilet paper. Extra feminine hygiene that should last a year, warm clothes. Warm clothes especially made for cold winters. Want to hear more?

Ro - Can you type a list of what you have in your food storage and preparedness kits (if you have time)? I'm really interested to know more.
